Unfortunately, the Mouvement pour une démocratie nouvelle (MDN) cannot provide English translations of all documents published on this site. However, in Electoral Reform in Quebec: Civic Engagement, Consensus and Possible Actions, the reader will find an introduction to electoral reform in Quebec. This document focuses on the following: what is at stake in electoral reform; the steps already taken towards that goal; consensuses reached on this issue during the last years; and the present situation. The reader will also find information on the MDN’s new countdown campaign, called “Urgence démocratique”. This campaign’s goal is to get a new voting system implemented in Quebec in time for the next general elections (which we believe will be called in 2013).
